Haarlemmerbuurt:
In the past centuries the main road to Haarlem, Haarlemmerstraat and the Haarlemmerdijk, now make a long and delightfully varied shoppingstreet.
You can find some good restaurants (see restaurants) lunch-shops, hip cafes and all kind of goods. Like chocolate, books, beads, olive oil and other kind of rarities. It still a local neighboorhood that is not spoiled by tourisme.

The nine litlle streets:
The little streets that criss-cross all the main canals, are know as the most popular shopping spots of Amsterdam. The most of this shops are specialised in all kind of goods. From toothbrushes, brocante, vinyl records to second hand clothes.

Spiegelkwartier:
Want to buy a Picasso? An ancient Egyptian sculpture? Dutch Old Masters?
The shops and galleries in the “Spiegelkwartier” offers you the best off the worlds finest arts. There are 70 specialised dealers in this neighbourhood with there top quality collections and advice. 

The Jordan:
A special part of town, with beautiful canals (esspecially in the summer) small sidestreets, and were you will find designer boutiques, galleries and junk shops. There are restaurants from all kind of levels form chique to local dishes. Some pubs have to be seen, like Café Nol on the Westerstraat.

Zeedijk & Nieuwmarkt:
Once a quarter were all the (drunken) sailors walked and drunk, this patchwork of streets and canals, strating close to the Central Station, is one of the oldest part of town. You will find an enormous offer of pubs in old Dutch tradition. Also the Chinese neighbourhood (Chinatown) is situated here. With there local supermarket(s) and restaurants they give an international; caracter to the area.
At the end of the Zeedijk there is the Nieuwmarkt with his daily market.
In the middle you will find the Waag, one of the oldest buildings of the city.
Also this trip can be very well combined with the redlight district.

Flowermarket:
Since 1862 is this floating flowermarket, situated on the Singel, one of the most famous flowermarkets of Holland. You can find here exotical plants and typical Dutch flowers; like tulips. It is a very toeristic place but nice to see. The market is daily open from 9.00 till 17.30.
